A day filled with craic, culture, good food & wine..sounds perfect right? That’s why I was absolutely delighted to have been invited back to attend this years Campo Viejo Tapa’s Trail. Last year myself & my best friend Vicky attended and when I told her this year I had been invited back, she told me quite frankly under no circumstances was I allowed invite anyone else, so I think that will tell you how much you she enjoyed last year’s event too!
This year’s trail included four amazing well known Galway eateries; The House Hotel, Biteclub, 56 Central and Cava Bodega.
How glorious is this weather we’re getting? 30 degrees heat is something we are not used to here in Ireland! These warmer temperatures had me dreaming all day of being back among the vines in Napa, so much so I said I’d finally get around to posting about it 🙂 For anyone who follows me on snapchat or Instagram (@adashoflime) or if you know me at all for that matter, then you’ll know that I’m not exactly shy when it comes to professing my love for wine. From the very first evening we decided we were going to San Francisco, both of us immediately said that there was absolutely no way in hell that we were going that far without visiting the infamous wine country. Venice, Venice, Venice -where to begin? It really is a magical city that no picture can ever truly capture. For as long as I can remember, Venice has always been one of those places that I’ve always looked at and thought “Wow, I need to go there sometime”, so one night after looking at one too many Italian- related instagrams, I thought that sometime needed to become soon so I sent out a group text to some of my favourite ladies and the rest was history. I hope you all had a great weekend! Mine was one of the best I’ve had in ages. On Saturday I went to the Ireland V Wales rugby match in Dublin, thanks again to Foley’s Hop House for the tickets! On Sunday, I attended the press launch of the Campo Viejo Tapas Trail. If you know me, then you’ll know about my undying (and a little excessive) love for all things wine and food related so when I heard the words “Tapas Trail” alone, I was sold.
The trail is organised by Spanish winemaker’s, Campo Viejo. They have ran these trails in Dublin and Cork for a few years but this year is the first time they have brought the trail to Galway. With all the Spanish connections and roots that Galway has, it only made sense for them to bring it here next. View Post
As I already mentioned I went away to Spain last month. For the majority of the holiday, I stayed in my family’s favourite place- Nerja, but seeing as we always go there, we decided it would be nice to brake the trip up by visiting another city near by for a couple of days in between.
