Happy Friday! I hope you all had a lovely week. Today’s look is pretty much me in an outfit – there’s a few things going on at once as always but I love it. And of course, there’s a touch (a full blazer but sssh) of leopard print. Ye should know by now that my basics are black, denim, metallic and leopard print! The inner Pat Butcher in me will never be suppressed. Never, I tell you!
This week, I took on the almighty challenge of doing a huge wardrobe clearout. I always find them daunting at first but once I get stuck in, I can become quite ruthless. I’m still not fully finished but when I am, I’ll upload everything I’m not keeping to my Depop (@adashoflime). The beauty in clearing out your wardrobe and going through everything, means you rediscover older pieces that you might have forgotten about.
Today’s find was this silk leopard print shirt. How I forgot about it is beyond me because it is genuinely one of my favourite items in my wardrobe. I decided to wear it open as a little blazer come jacket instead and wore my Celine Dion tee underneath. I threw on some fringed denims, buckle flats and voila, good to go!
When I first started blogging, I used to think I could only publish a post if everything in the post was brand spanking new, which, of course, looking back on was ridiculous. I started this blog to share my personal style from my own wardrobe – not to feel like I had to go in to Zara and pick out a new outfit head to toe each time to show off. The reality of it is, most people rewear their clothes. We can’t all think of our pieces as disposable. Of course, I love getting new pieces and when I do, I’m more than thrilled to show them off and let everyone know where it’s from but the reality is, if I get a new knit, I will probably be wearing them with a pair of jeans you’ve seen previously. And that’s okay! I fully believe that when you buy a new piece, you should be able to work it into multiple different outfits from your existing wardrobe!
What do you guys think? I’d love to hear your thoughts!
