Spring is setting in and with that brings the beginning of all those occasions we associate with that time of year – Communions, Confirmations, Weddings and of course, the racing season! With all of those occasions also brings the added stress of what to wear! I always think its a good idea to pick up a few dresses at the start of the season to have in the wardrobe, ready and waiting for when those days out come around.
I spotted this Dolce & Gabbana dress recently and instantly fell in love with it. Obviously I didn’t fall in love with the price tag of €1,550 but I knew that I would be able to find something similar for less if I searched. I just loved everything about it from the classy midi length to the monochrome polka dot print which is huge this season but also quite timeless, to the cold shoulder detailing. It would be perfect for a Summer wedding but also would be just as lovely worn casually with a nice wedge or flat on your holidays etc. I’m going to Spain at the end of next month and I think that I might have to sneak this dress (the non Dolce one I’m afraid) into my suitcase. It struck me recently that I hadn’t done a “Shop The Look For Less” post in ages so today I thought I would get around to fixing that. I mean, who doesn’t love a bargain right? First of all, I’d like to say that by me doing these bargain type posts, it by no means means that I’m against designer bags etc, I AM ALL FOR THEM, it’s just my bank balance isn’t quite there yet! I think it’s amazing when people work their asses off and get to a place where they are able to reward themselves with investment pieces that will last them a lifetime and also act as a reminder of that time they got that new job or made that promotion and so on. Seeing as it’s Wednesday and that generally means everyone’s in the midst of a mid week slump, I thought I would cheer you up with a Shop The Look For Less post. This week I’m focusing on the oh so beautiful but equally pricey Stuart Weitzman over the knee Lowland boots. Over the knee boots were a huge trend last winter but I predict them being even bigger this coming season. Everyone knows that when it comes to over the knee boot’s that Stuart Weitzman’s are pretty much the holy grail but with a price tag of €795, they’re not for everyone! So with that in mind, I’ve searched high and low and found some similar pairs with a friendlier price tag. Simply click on the images below for more details. View Post
I’m back with my latest pro-bargain hunting post, and this time I’m focusing on the “IT” bag of the year.. The Chloe Drew bag. I think the phrase “there’s beauty in simplicity” really applies in the case of this gorgeous bag. And of course, like most wardrobe staples, it’s it’s simplicity that adds to it’s wearability and timelessness. Dress it up, dress it down, this bag will take you anywhere. View Post
I thought it was time to do another “Shop The Look For Less” post seeing as my last one went down quite well. This time around I chose the iconic Self Portrait dresses. Even though they only launched their first collection in Fall 2013, they have already become a recognisable brand. Intricate, floral lace and embroidery, mesh and leather inserts, cut-out panels, peter-pan collars and dainty, tea-length, full skirts, come to mind when I think of Han Chong’s beautiful creations.
