As I write this, the clock’s just turned past midnight and it’s now the 3rd of March, making it my 24th birthday. In the days leading up to my birthday, all I could think of was “Omg.. 24… you’re so old.. you’re one year away from the quarter century club..” etc etc. I kept thinking of it in a negative way which really was absolutely ridiculous. I feel like people my age put such pressure on themselves (myself included) to achieve things by certain ages, that when the plan they made for themselves as a clueless 14 year old, don’t go exactly as they had anticipated, they feel like they’ve failed or not done enough.
For instance, when I look back at the conversations I had with my friends when we were teenagers, four out of five of us probably thought that we would be engaged by the age of 27/28. In my eyes, 27 was the optimum age to get engaged, kids definitely by 30? Where this came from, I’ll never know but it certainly makes me laugh looking back on it because there’s no way you can really plan how that stuff and most of life turns out. You just have to go with it, make the most of it as possible and enjoy everything you can along the way.
I really do believe that life is about those small moments, the memories you make with friends and family, the hours spent laughing until your cheeks hurt and the nights spent dancing until your feet hurt.
Life’s too short not to enjoy yourself and there definitely isn’t time for moaning about being lucky enough to age another year. With that in mind, I decided I would make a list of the 24 reasons I have to smile and the things I am most grateful for on my 24th birthday!
Okay, here we go..
What would blogger’s do without Instagram? Or more importantly, where would bloggers be without Instagram? Other social media platforms may come and go but in my opinion, Instagram is definitely the go to platform for those trying to gain attraction to their sites. It’s quick, it’s visual and it’s longer lasting than app’s like Snapchat. While Snapchat is great and very interactive, I love Instagram because it’s that bit more permanent. You can scroll back through years of your favourite blogger’s posts and it serves almost as an album.
I use Instagram, of course, to showcase my own photographs and veer attention towards my own website but mainly, I use Instagram for my own personal enjoyment. I am constantly on it. I use it as a moodboard for all my fashion wants and wishes. With that in mind, I thought I would share with you guys, my absolute favourite fashion bloggers and their accounts that I am forever getting inspiration from. Hopefully you do to!
It’s the morning after the night before in Hollywood and all anyone can talk about is The Oscars – the winners, the mistakes made; both minor and major, and of course.. the style! Naturally, the one thing I am most interested in is always the style and boy did they come out to impress last night. The Oscar’s are always one of the most highly anticipated nights of the year in terms of fashion. Everyone brings their A-game and this year was no different. Usually you can expect a few fashion faux-pas’ and style disaster’s on the red carpet but this year I was pleasantly surprised that, for the main part, the stylists and stars alike got it right. The two major trends that I noticed were the use of both a monochromatic and metallic palette and ornate detailing be it in heavy beading, lace finishing’s or luxurious fabric’s such as velvet and silk.

Happy Friday folks! Today’s post is all about that trend that just isn’t going anywhere, anytime soon – the slogan sweater. Clothes have always acted as a way for people to express themselves and these tops and sweaters do just that. You are literally letting your clothes do the talking and wearing your heart on your sleeve. A slogan top is the perfect weekend wear; throw it on with your ripped denims and converse, and you instantly have a look that’s effortlessly cool. Below are my top choices divided into two sections; one is a little easier on the pocket than the other 😉
“Don’t keep all your feeling sheltered – express them. Don’t ever let life shut you up!” – Dr. Steve Maraboli
“It takes nothing to join the crowd. It takes everything to stand alone.” – Hans F. Hansen
Hello Lovelies! This week’s second look couldn’t be further from the first one. My first look of this week was dark and lacked colour but I loved it anyways. This one is very much the opposite but again, I love it. I never usually wear many bold colours and certainly didn’t have anything orange in my wardrobe before purchasing this jumper but I just loved this shade and how it “popped”. I picked this cropped sweater up while I was in London for work last week, I was instantly drawn to the colour of it. It has a beautiful rich mustardy, burnt orange hue.
