Style Diary – Statement Sleeves & Pops Of Perspex

Hi Guys!

Friday, Friday, Friday..oh am I happy to see you! Last week I only worked two and a half days between the bank holiday Monday and having time off for my brother’s confirmation so this week has felt like a marathon in comparison. I have absolutely no plans for this weekend and I couldn’t be happier about it. Most weekends I would have something on like a friends birthday or a family event etc so I’m looking forward to just coming home this evening, putting my feet up and chilling out.

This look is a combination of old and new pieces in my wardrobe. I’ve had this sleeveless blazer for ages and it’s usually a piece that I wear during the Autumn/Winter but I think paired with this white bell sleeve blouse it works for this time of year. I was doing a big clear out of my wardrobe recently and I rediscovered a few pieces I had forgotten about. Check print is really back on the scene at the moment so I was delighted to find my sleeveless blazer and not have to fork out for something new. I had been eyeing up this checked blazer for a few weeks but my thirst for something checked has thankfully been quenched for now.

I bought this white shirt a couple of weeks back and honestly I have already gotten SO much wear out of it. It’s great tucked into a pair of jeans or it’s also lovely worn out over a skirt. I sized up and got the UK14 for around the bust – I HATE that look of things being too tight or “beat” on around the aul bust. The sleeve detail is of course very on trend at the moment as anything with sleeve details is huge at the moment. It’s a case of the bigger the better when it comes to sleeves these days. It’s not to everyone’s taste but I love it!

I picked up these contrast, raw hem, jeans in town last weekend and I’m delighted with them. They were reduced from €40 to €18 which made it even better. They are a really nice soft denim and feel so lovely on. They are super slimming as the seam down the middle gives the appearance of basically splitting your leg in two.. winning! 🙂 The heels are another New Look find and they are probably my favourite shoes at the moment. I’m obsessed with all tings perspex right now! They’re surprisingly comfortable too! I added a pop of colour with this Zara orange perspex clutch that I think I’ve had for around 5 years!! I’ve clearly liked perspex for a long time!

I hope you all have a fabulous weekend whatever you get up to! I will be doing as little as humanly possible!

Gotta Dash,

Edel x
