Campo Viejo Tapas Trail Galway 2016

A day filled with craic, culture, good food & wine..sounds perfect right? That’s why I was absolutely delighted to have been invited back to attend this years Campo Viejo Tapa’s Trail. Last year myself & my best friend Vicky attended and when I told her this year I had been invited back, she told me quite frankly under no circumstances was I allowed invite anyone else, so I think that will tell you how much you she enjoyed last year’s event too!

This year’s trail included four amazing well known Galway eateries; The House HotelBiteclub56 Central and Cava Bodega.

We started in The House Hotel where they welcomed us with some Cava before we met our guide of the day, Paul. The man is actually made for the stage, he is hilarious and has the most amazing presence. We were served delicious tapas in each restaurant which were of course accompanied with a glass of the special Campo Viejo Rioja Reserva. Every restaurant was as nice as the next and brought something different and special to the day.

As we made our way through town from one place to the next, our guide, Paul would stop and tell us stories and tales of old Galway. He puts so much work into his research, that standing in front of 20 Galwegians he was still able to amaze us with stories none of us had ever heard and of course kept us laughing throughout.

Each of the four restaurants went above and beyond to create something special, many using all local ingredients from Biteclub who source all of their pork from our local Heterich Butcher’s to 56 Central who source their gourmet breads from town’s favourite French bakery Petit Delice.

Tickets for the event are only €30 and seeing as that includes 4 delicious different plates of food accompanied with 4 beautiful glasses of Rioja all wrapped up in a really enjoyable, culture filled day..well I think that works out at quite a bargain! It’s such a fun day, from meeting new people to learning new things about our favourite city that we call home and of course we can’t forget the food and the wine! There are two more dates left for the Galway Trail and tickets can be bought here. I honestly couldn’t recommend it enough!

Hope you’re all having a good week!

Gotta Dash,

Edel x
