Last Sunday my family and I decided to go on a bit of a “family day out”. We got up early and drove to Doolin in Co. Clare. The drive down from Galway through all the villages is absolutely beautiful. From Doolin we walked out to The Cliffs of Moher. It’s around 8km each way but the views and surroundings are so stunning that you barely notice. I’m ashamed to admit it but it was my first time going to the Cliffs. We got really lucky with the weather, it was such a nice day. We were walking for around four hours so by the time we got back into the village we had definitely worked up a hunger. We sat out, enjoyed the sun, some good old fashioned pub grub and a well deserved Guinness. Such a lovely day! I think growing up in Ireland always surrounded by beautiful landscape I sometimes take for granted how amazing it actually is. I’m definitely going to make an effort to go on more trips and “staycations” this summer!
