CFDA Awards Highs, Lows & Hell No’s!

The CFDA Awards or Council of Fashion Designers of America Awards are always one of the most highly anticipated red-carpet events of the year, especially to anyone who truly loves fashion. Its one event where everything is about the fashion and because of that the moguls, stars, celebrities and designers all tend to bring their A-game. Except this year I have to admit I’m not all that impressed. Of course, some celebrities stunned but as a whole I was left rather disappointed. Here are my favourites and my not so favourites from the star studded event.

Blake Lively

If you know me you will be in no way shocked that Blake has made top of my list as she’s my ultimate style crush. She kept it simple in a short, beaded gold Michael Kors dress and teamed it with plush pink shoes and matching headband. I just loved how girly and elegant the whole ensemble was.

Bridget Moynahan

The american beauty, model and actress looked absolutely gorgeous in this purple strapless gown. Massive thumbs up from me!

Alessandra Ambrosio

The Brazilian model is best known for being a Victoria’s Secret lingerie model but that doesn’t mean she can’t do the demure look either. Alessandra was the picture of elegance in this strapless, red, fitted gown.

Solange Knowles

Solange hit the carpet in this absolutely stunning metallic body-skimming gown by Francisco Costa for Calvin Klein. (Lets hope the carpet is the only thing she hits tonight!)

The Olsen Twins

The iconic duo arrived looking even more alike than usual in very similar long sleeved, black, wrap dresses. Now I am literally never one not to adore their style but I just thought they could have done so much more, maybe its because I have such a high expectation of them but tonight I just wasn’t feeling their rather dowdy look.

Hell No’s!

Never one to make a subtle entrance, Rihanna arrived in this ‘nearly nude’ crystal embellished gown. She accessorized  it with a matching cap and gloves and pale pink fur stole. I think I might be in the minority on this one but I strongly dislike it, and that’s me being nice. To make matters worse, she was given “The Most Iconic Fashion Award.” I think she took “shine bright like a diamond” a bit too literal this time!

What was your favourite look?

All My Love,
