One of my favourite things to do is go out, eat good food and drink delicious wine. Is it not everyone’s? That’s why I was absolutely delighted to be invited along to The Salthill Social a couple of weeks ago to test out their new evening menu. Anyone that has followed me for awhile will know that The Salthill Social is a bit of a haunt of mine already as I always go there for brunch and coffee. It also helps that it is literally less then a minute from my house! Taking both of those two things into consideration, you could understand why I was so excited to hear they were launching a new dinner menu. Salthill already has a few amazing places to eat but I’m always welcome of new places and it’s really great to see new businesses popping up and the street becoming even busier.
Anyone that has tried The Salthill Social’s brunch will know that it never disappoints so the standards were set at a high standard for their evening menu. I brought my sister/photographer along who is also a fellow foodie. Our mom’s an incredible cook and because of it we love good food, so she was the perfect plus one. It was also a nice way of being able to thank her for having the patience of a saint in dealing with me and taking all my photos. 🙂
On entry, we were greeted by some of the lovely staff, given a glass of bubbly and sat by the window. With that, it was time to inspect the menu. First thing that I noticed, was how extensive it is. There is something for everyone on it. They offer a range of light bites or tapas style dishes, sharing boards, mains, sides and delicious deserts.
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you will already be aware that blazers are absolutely everywhere this season. Gone are the days where the blazer is seen as your typical, slightly boring, work-wear jacket. It is the perfect “in between” jacket. By that, I mean that it’s not too dressy nor is it too casual. The blazer will work it’s way into most outfits and is such a brilliant piece to have in your wardrobe. Many people will possess a blazer of some description and most will own a black one. While a black blazer will always come in useful and is ideal for work, this season the blazers that are doing the talking are the bolder ones; ones that are colourful, printed or textured.
I’ve searched through all of my favourite online haunts to source the best blazers that are out there at the moment and linked them for you below. View Post
Happy Wednesday everyone! To mark making it to the half way point of the week, I’m celebrating with my favourite “W”… a wishlist! I know what you were thinking, and yes there may be a glass of that on the way to me later too, if I’m good!
It’s no surprise that I’m back banging on about shoes, they’re always my biggest weakness. Autumn is my favourite time of year; it’s beautiful and crisp out, the leaves are falling and it’s finally time to root back out my favourite shoes and boots. While I love digging out my old ones, I obviously get very excited about adding a few new pairs to the collection as well.
This year, there are a few trends in footwear that are not to be forgotten. Styles that are big time “IN” this year are sock shoes and boots, biker chic boots and any boot in the colour white or red!
Hey guys, I hope you’ve all had a productive and fun filled week. I’m never one to wish away a day but I’m still seriously feeling the TGIF vibes today! I don’t know what it is but some weeks are so much more tiring than others regardless of what you’ve actually done. My plans for this weekend include, doing nothing, doing nothing..oh, and doing nothing! View Post
Whether we like it or not, Autumn is knocking on our doors and it’s time we start preparing our wardrobes for it’s coming. Some people dread the thought of Autumn but as for me, I love it. I’m obsessed with dressing for this time of year.
It can be very tricky in the months of September & October because while it’s not warm anymore, it’s still not quite cold enough to pull out the heavy knits and layers either. Because of this, I’ve compiled a list of the 10 pieces I consider to be must have items to bring you from one season into the next with ease. Some of these pieces you will probably find you already have in your wardrobe but it’s just a matter of styling them differently to make them more suited to the autumnal weather. View Post
